This practicum is an optional elective, providing students with practical experience in real-world healthcare informatics and data analytics settings. Emphasis is on translating theoretical knowledge into practical skills in a professional environment. The functions and responsibilities of informatics specialists and data analysts are examined. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, students will further their understanding of daily operations, data management, patient privacy concerns, and technology implementation in healthcare settings. Students will identify a problem or challenge within the healthcare setting and develop a project to address it.

International students enrolled in the campus program should expect to take this course as part of their required curriculum.
