QUIZ
Which CYbersecurity Career Path
is Right for You?
It’s no secret that cybersecurity experts are in high demand with the global cost of cybercrime per minute projecting to cost the world $11.4 million per minute in 2021.
Private, public and government sectors are taking the necessary precautions to protect their systems and data by hiring experienced, knowledgeable cybersecurity experts — and you could be one of them.
But which cybersecurity career path is right for you? If you’re considering pursuing a career in this area, you’ve probably done some research and come across many different jobs titles attached to the word cybersecurity: analyst, tester, consultant, associate, engineer — and more.
Some job responsibilities do overlap, but there are some distinct differences with certain cybersecurity positions.
Since the University of San Diego offers master’s degree programs in both Cyber Security Operations and Leadership and Cyber Security Engineering, we’re always helping our students navigate the best cybersecurity career paths to align with their personal interest, experience and goals.
We’ve put together this short quiz as a fun way for you to figure out which cybersecurity career path might be best for you. It’s quick and easy, and if you have any questions as you tabulate your answers, we’d be happy to answer them!
