Mark Christenson has spent the past three years working as a Machine Learning Engineer at GoodRx. Mark joined GoodRx pre-IPO and helped the company grow from a start-up to an enterprise. He was the first Machine Learning Engineer at GoodRx and helped define the roles and responsibilities for the team. While at GoodRx, Mark built, maintained and championed a Machine Learning Platform for batch and realtime machine learning models using industry-standard and emerging technologies. He taught Data Scientists and Data Analysts at GoodRx how to follow good engineering principles while designing predictive models. Mark has previously worked as a Data Engineer at the University of Southern California Institute of Creative Technologies, and as a Backend, Platform, and Systems Engineer at Ticketmaster.
What advice do you have for students considering USD’s Applied Artificial Intelligence online degree program?
USD’s Applied Artificial Intelligence online degree program is a great opportunity to get a Master of Science degree from an accredited university. Having access to course lectures online allows students to take notes, rewind and absorb the material at their own pace. To further facilitate learning, USD’s Applied Artificial Intelligence program offers regular office hours with professors who will make themselves available to answer any questions. The program also focuses heavily on group projects, allowing students to learn how to collaborate in a team. All of this is managed from an online platform which allows students to attend the university without having to fully relocate.
