M.S. in Information Technology Leadership
The Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership (MS-ITL) was created to develop leaders who can be more than technical specialists in today’s digital world. It launched in Spring 2024 and has continued to grow inspiring IT leaders internationally.
The mission of the University of San Diego's Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership program is to develop the next generation of IT leaders.
The program is designed to equip professionals in a wide range of IT roles - from database administrators to system analysts - with the knowledge and skills needed to advance into roles like Director of IT, VP of Technology, or even Chief Information Officer.
The curriculum focuses on fundamentals for IT leadership and covers a vast array of areas in the IT sphere, including networking, DevOps, IT service management, server operations, cybersecurity, project, vendor and construction management and enterprise applications, data management and reporting. This 100% online program was designed around the philosophy that IT leadership is a position of earned influence.
The MS-ITL program empowers students to conquer complex IT systems with knowledge, adaptability, and confidence. Critically, they also learn to communicate effectively with non-IT stakeholders, earning trust and support.
Graduates of this program will gain the skills needed to become leaders who can navigate the complexities of information technology systems and articulate the value of technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Even if they are not subject matter experts in every technical specialization, they will be equipped to evaluate the mission, resources and constraints of an organization to develop, communicate, deploy and maintain effective IT outcomes.
