Apply by November 4th to be Considered for $3,000 in Scholarship Funding

USD is proud to announce the availability of limited scholarship funds for new students admitted to the MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership (CSOL) programfor the Spring 2025 term. The scholarship awards $3,000 (covering the first course). The MS-CSOL Academic Director, Michelle Moore, will review all submissions and will select 5 individuals who meet the requirements below to receive the scholarship.


Scholarship Information

Eligibility and Process

  • Apply and be accepted for the Spring 2025 term by November 4, 2024.
  • Application must be fully completed and submitted by November 4, 2024. A completed application includes the following:
    • Official transcripts showing your Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
    • TOEFL scores of 115 or above (if applicable).
    • Statement of purpose.
    • Letter of support from your employer or two letters of reference.
    • Resume showing information technology experience.
    • The completion of a standardized test, such as the GRE, GMAT, Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or LSAT may be submitted to strengthen an application if the undergraduate GPA is lower than 2.75, or upon recommendation of the admissions committee.
  • Create a video discussing a specific time you experienced a conflict and how you addressed and resolved it. Please see instructions and evaluation criteria below.
  • Begin your program as scheduled on January 7th.
  • If awarded the scholarship, you must persist in the first semester and remain registered for both classes past the semester drop deadlines.

Conflict Resolution Video Assignment

Instructions:

  1. Introduction: Introduce yourself and briefly describe the nature of the conflict. 
  2. Details of the Conflict: Explain the context of the conflict and describe your initial feelings and reactions. Mention any challenges or obstacles you faced.
  3. Resolution Process: Discuss the steps you took to address the conflict and explain any strategies or techniques you used for conflict resolution. Did you seek help from others?
  4. Outcome: Describe the outcome of the conflict and reflect on what you learned from the experience.
  5. Conclusion: Summarize your key points and end with a final thought or takeaway message.

Technical Requirements:

  • The video should be between 3 to 5 minutes long. Ensure good lighting and clear audio. Upload the video to Video Peel​ by the November 4, 2024 deadline.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Clarity and coherence of the narrative. Depth of reflection on the conflict and resolution process. Creativity and engagement in the presentation. Adherence to the time limit and technical quality.

Additional Details

  • The scholarship funds are only available to new students applying to the MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership with a start term of Spring 2025.
  • Applicants who were admitted to the program for a prior start term (whether or not they enrolled) are not eligible to apply for scholarship funds.
