Josh Kohrumel currently serves as the Chief Data Officer for Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. In this capacity Josh is responsible for Data Strategy, Innovation and Business technologies, which includes oversight of analytics, enterprise resource planning and other business systems, reporting, integration/interface development, web services, database administration, project services, enterprise architecture, mhealth, telemedicine and other emerging technologies. Before serving as Chief Data Officer, Josh was the Director of the Portfolio Management Office for Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Josh previously served on the Board of the Association for Executives in Healthcare IT Applications (AEHIA) as the vice chair and on the Public Policy Committee for the Association for Executives in Healthcare IT Technology (AEHIT). Josh has spoken at several conferences across the country covering topics ranging from Epic implementations, information security and health care analytics. Josh was also previously named to the list of 30 rising health IT stars by Health Data Management, as well as named a Qlik Luminary.
Josh has over 15 years of experience overseeing various aspects of EMR implementations and leveraging of health information technology at several different organizations, including Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, Southern California Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente) and the Veterans’ Health Administration. Predating his health care technology work, Josh has 7 years of clinical research experience. Josh has a background in Health Policy and Management, earning an MPH from University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego.
