What motivated you to be a LEPSL ambassador?

To spread awareness to the LEPSL Program and the amazing educational/professional opportunities that it can provide.

Why did you choose the LEPSL program? What made LEPSL stand out in comparison to other schools/programs?

Several work colleagues recommended the LEPSL program and had nothing but great things to say. I truly believe that LEPSL is the best Master’s Degree currently offered to law enforcement professionals.

What were your concerns about starting a graduate program?

Balance between work, home, and education.

How did the LEPSL program help you achieve your career goals?

The LEPSL program has already started to open the door for promotional opportunities and allowed me to better prepare for promotional exams. My communication skills, both in person and in writing, have been sharpened by the LEPSL program.

What advice would you share with prospective LEPSL applicants?

For those wary about beginning their graduate studies, the LEPSL program goes by extremely fast. Not only that, but the entire process is very much enjoyable. I’ve learned, grown, and become much more effective as a leader. All of the staff at USD and in the LEPSL program have been absolutely amazing. I recommend that every law enforcement professional pursue a Master’s Degree in the LEPSL program. You won’t regret it.

What was your favorite part of the LEPSL program?

My favorite part about the program was getting the opportunity to connect with law enforcement professionals worldwide. Through networking and the weekly discussion posts, I’ve been able to broaden my horizons and learn from fellow professionals in all types of ranks/organizations. This experience has made me much better as a forward thinker, problem solver, and leader.

What were you balancing while participating in the LEPSL program?

On-call Detective schedule, on-call 24/7 with the S.W.A.T Team, and balance with family life.

How did you stay motivated throughout the program in the face of competing priorities in your life?

By always looking ahead and knowing that there’s a graduation date. Also, being one of the only people in my family to have a graduate degree. I’m hoping to set an example for my future children and fellow colleagues.
