What motivated you to be a LEPSL ambassador?
To assist those who seek to improve and better themselves as leaders and future leaders in the criminal justice/ law enforcement field.
Why did you choose the LEPSL program? What made LEPSL stand out in comparison to other schools/programs?
I chose the LEPSL program over others due to its online flexibility, reputation and recognition, and the specific and applicable courses that have direct applicability to law enforcement and criminal justice.
What were your concerns about starting a graduate program?
Years removed from schooling and the unknown challenges associated with a graduate program.
How did the LEPSL program help you achieve your career goals?
Transparent information from the beginning and the continuous offering of support assistance from school administration to instructors and professors.
What advice would you share with prospective LEPSL applicants?
Never stop learning. The LEPSL program is not just a graduate program but a program that helps establish networks and the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
What was your favorite LEPSL course?
LEPSL 550 – Data Fluency & Analysis. Initially an intimidating course but its applicability to law enforcement is evident from the beginning. The progression on how to better understand statistics and numbers allows students to overcome their apprehension. As a leader in law enforcement, having a better understanding of numbers and statistics is vital to ensure that the right questions are being asked.
What were you balancing while participating in the LEPSL program?
Family life with three kids while working in the Training Section responsible for both new recruits to front-line officers’ officer safety tactics. Also balanced with traveling in relation to police training courses.
How did you stay motivated throughout the program in the face of competing priorities in your life?
Focused on one module at a time. The program will feel like a short time after completion.
