Course Overview
Building on the analytical foundations established in HCIN 571, this class focuses on designing and transforming structured datasets into meaningful, decision-ready visual insights. The course introduces dashboarding and business intelligence tools to create interactive visualizations, apply custom filtering logic, and communicate insights through dynamic data stories. Students will curate custom datasets from a healthcare environment, develop data models that support analytical relationships, and calculate custom measures relevant to clinical, financial, and operational use cases. Students develop competencies in both the technical and conceptual aspects of healthcare data visualization and modeling.
