Abigail Leaf has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from SFSU and a Master’s from USD, in what was the Math, Science, and Technology Education program. She has done extensive graduate level work in Mathematics at SFSU, as well as teaching college Algebra and Calculus there.

Scholarly Work

Over the last 15 years, Abigail Leaf has been involved in many levels of mathematics education; from writing curriculum, participating in State level committees, chairing professional mathematics organizations, and deconstructing standards for publication. She taught math for ten years in a San Diego County high school which served students for whom traditional, comprehensive high school was not a good fit.

Areas of Interest

Abigail Leaf currently works as a Mathematics Content Specialist, for the same school district she taught in, directing the transition of all high schools to an integrated mathematics pathway. Her role includes supporting all of the math teachers as they work together to bring research-based strategies into their classrooms to ensure that all students succeed and feel good about their mathematics experiences.
