Chuck Bane joined the USD Center for Cyber Security Engineering and Technology as a professor of practice in June 2018. He is a highly motivated professional with over twenty years of teaching and curriculum development experience on both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, he was a collaborator in the application process for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) Center of Academic Excellence, which successfully resulted in the Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity designation. A project management, communications and security professional with over thirty-five years of experience in project management, systems security analysis, design, development and management of network systems supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
Chuck, a retired US Naval Officer, had an extensive US Naval career covering 25 years of service. His career covered 11 years of enlisted service in submarines as a nuclear reactor operator and 14 years as a commissioned officer in Surface Warfare.
Chuck retired from being a professor for the engineering program, but remains an expert in all things cyber security for the university.
