Cindy Reed is a Clinical Informaticist with a passion for developing and implementing the use of technical/EHR tools to enhance and support clinical workflows and optimize patient care delivery. Relevant projects include: full life cycle implementations of Centricity Enterprises at a five-hospital system, transition from legacy EMRs to Epic Enterprise EHR at a large five-hospital/40-clinic medical system, MD Anderson co-branding EMR workflow/build synchronization, full life cycle EMR training program delivery for over 15,000 employees that included workflow design, build and pathway management, Enterprise EHR upgrades & 3rd party system synchronization, and regular participation in RCA/FMEA for all optimization and change management projects. She actively uses her Lean/Six Sigma certification to support informatics project management for various change management/optimization initiatives.
With an extensive clinical background as a nursing leader since 2008, Cindy’s various informatics roles have included: Nurse Consultant for Information Services, EHR testing & workflow specialist, EHR certified analyst, EHR education program manager & clinical informatics nurse. Initiatives and committee/workgroup participation include chair of systemwide clinical documentation committee, users & security liaison, clinical decision support team, EHR liaison for simulation training, systemwide operational groups and regulatory/quality/policy systemwide committees to support ongoing readiness assessments, certifications, attestation, and surveys.
