David Haigh
David Haigh has worked in the field of instructional design for nearly a decade within K-12 and higher education as well as corporate training. During that time he has focused on utilizing new and innovative technologies when designing courses and module learning assessments. In addition, David has a strong background in curriculum design and evaluation creating new learning programs in the areas of leadership, history, information technology and nursing.
Currently, David works as the Director for Simulation and Innovative Learning for the Hahn School of Nursing at the University of San Diego. In this role, David works with nursing faculty to create training scenarios that facilitate student learning, practice and application of skills needed as they progress into the healthcare field. Virtual and augmented reality, robotics, and artificial intelligence are some of the tools used to create immersive and high-fidelity simulation activities.
In his spare time, David enjoys writing fantasy fiction (he has published two novels and is working on a third), gaming, hiking and golfing. David resides in Oceanside with his wife, two children and a dog.
