Jae D. Kim, PhD, is an associate professor and chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of San Diego. He teaches courses in operations research, data science, discrete-event simulation and energy sustainability. His research interests are in areas of energy policy, electric grid operation, data science and supply chain design and optimization. Most recently, Dr. Kim has been featured as an expert contributor in numerous media programs on the issues and challenges to mass electric vehicle (EV) adoption.
Dr. Kim received his BS degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration in 2007 from UC Berkeley; MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2008; MS in Operations Research Engineering from USC in 2011; and PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from USC in 2014.
