Kary is a Georgia Tech graduate with a bachelor in nuclear engineering and a masters in mechanical engineering. He spent 42 years working as a rotating equipment engineer with ExxonMobil in chemicals, refining and upstream. He had numerous overseas assignments (Spain, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Nigeria) finishing his career as the lead for the world-wide upstream organization. He is a space fanatic having watched the Mercury flights with his grandmother who remembered the Wright brothers and has a ticket on Virgin Galactic.
