Laurie Ecoff oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of the Institute’s strategic plan, designed to advance the profession of nursing. Laurie was most recently the Director of Research, Education and Professional Practice at Sharp Memorial Hospital. She is a Clinical Professor in the Clinical Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs at USD Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science. She was the 2021 president of the Association of California Nurse Leaders.
Her dissertation focused on evaluation of an educational initiative to promote evidence-based practice. She is a founding member and one of the lead faculty for the Consortium for Excellence in Nursing and Allied Health, San Diego, a community collaborative comprised of leaders from health care systems and schools of nursing. The consortium offers an annual Evidence-Based Practice Institute for advanced practice nurses or interprofessional leaders (mentors) and direct care providers (fellows).
