About

Parastoo is currently serving as an adjunct professor of the Applied Data Science program at University of San Diego. She was formerly a Staff Engineer at Qualcomm, where she served as senior machine learning advisor for Integrated Circuit (IC) test prediction and synthetic silicon data generation. Prior to that, she had 5+ years of experience in design and implementation of machine learning models for pharma, audit, insurance, airline, and medical industries as a Senior Scientist at Opera Solutions and a visiting researcher at University of California San Diego. She earned her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University in 2014, where her research was focused on statistical characterization of underwater acoustic communication channels.
