Tory Kornblum, MA
Captain (Ret.) – Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff
Tory Kornblum started her law enforcement career with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff in 2002. During her twenty years with the agency, she worked a variety of assignments in custody, patrol, training, investigations, recruiting and emergency services. She also held ancillary assignments as a field training officer and defensive tactics/electronic weapons instructor. Her favorite assignments included the field training program coordinator and the Contra Costa sheriff basic academy director. Tory retired as a captain in 2022 as the emergency services division and coroner’s division commander.
After her retirement, Tory fulfilled a long-time dream of moving to central Oregon, where she took a position with the Sunriver Police Department as an officer, corporal and captain. In 2025, she transitioned to a position in the private sector working in public safety technology. In her spare time, she volunteers with her local ski patrol.
Tory’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Boston University. Tory also attended the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the California POST Command College. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 280.
