Tory Kornblum, MA
Tory Kornblum started her law enforcement career with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff in 2002. During her twenty years with the agency, she worked a variety of assignments in custody, patrol, training, investigations, recruiting and emergency services. She also held ancillary assignments as a field training officer and defensive tactics/electronic weapons instructor. Her favorite assignments included the field training program coordinator and the Contra Costa sheriff basic academy director. Tory retired as a captain in 2022 as the emergency services division and coroner’s division commander.
After her retirement, Tory fulfilled a long-time dream of moving to central Oregon, where she took a position with the Sunriver Police Department as a police officer. In 2023, she was promoted to corporal, and then her present rank of captain with the department.
Tory’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Boston University. Tory also attended the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the California POST Command College. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 280.
