Trevor Maynard is the founder of Extropy Research, a software R&D firm that develops training simulation technologies. He was also the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Intellic Technologies, where he led the development of immersive simulation environments for fire and emergency services training. His research interests include modeling of physical and environmental systems, VR/AR integration and the development of simulation frameworks to improve operations in high-risk/complex applications.
Trevor spent over 10 years in technical and management roles with the federal government,
including as Section Chief with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives –
Fire Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Prior to his government service, he was a
Manufacturing / Process Engineer in the commercial aerospace sector, where he worked with
cross-functional teams to improve the quality and efficiency of carbon composites
manufacturing operations.
Trevor obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside,
where his research focused on wildland fire behavior modeling. He holds licensure as a
Professional Mechanical and Fire Protection Engineer in California. Trevor is a native of San
Diego, and in his free time he enjoys traveling and being outdoors.
