Next Steps for Newly Admitted Students
You’re in! What’s next?
Welcome, New Students!
Congratulations on your admission to your master’s program at the University of San Diego! To help you prepare for your upcoming term, we’ve put together a checklist of important next steps to complete before you begin.

We are excited to embark on this journey with you! As a new graduate student of USD Online, ensure you complete these steps to secure your spot in the program.
1. Review Your Acceptance Email
Read through your formal acceptance email from the Office of Graduate Admissions
2. Retrieve Your Temporary Username and Password
Before you sign into your MySanDiego portal, you’ll need your temporary username and password.
Enter your Last Name and UNID (also known as CAS ID).
If you don’t remember your CAS ID, check the email from the university with the subject line “Save this email for your graduate application | University of San Diego.” It contains your CAS ID. If you can’t find this email or need assistance, email USD Graduate Admission ([email protected]). Your CAS ID is also listed under your name in the Application portal.
3. Log into the MySanDiego Portal
- Go the the MySanDiego portal and log in
- Click on the “Admissions” tab
- Select “Admitted” from the drop-down menu
4. Make Your Deposit

- Click “Make My Deposit” again. A new window will open for you to submit your enrollment deposit. If needed, disable the pop-up blocker in your browser settings.
Note: If you received a deposit waiver, you will not have to pay a deposit
5. Submit Your Enrollment Commitment
The Enrollment Commitment Form confirms your intent to start your program and allows our student success team to manage your class registration and begin the new student onboarding process. Look out for an email from your program with the link to complete the enrollment commitment form.
6. Claim your USDOne Account
Please wait at least 24 hours after accepting your admission offer, and then proceed with claiming your USDOne account and university email account. Additionally, work with your advisor to sign your Enrollment Commitment.
By claiming your account, you will:
- Create a USD-specific email address
- Gain access to additional tabs in the MySanDiego Portal
- Receive important information from your faculty and academic advisors
If you have trouble accessing the portal or accepting your admission offer, email USD Graduate Admission or call 619-260-4524.
