Angela Zautcke is a San Diego native and Assistant Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Franciscan School of Theology. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a dual degree in Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity (PhD) and Classics (MA). Angela’s research focuses on the New Testament within the broader context of Judaism and the Greco-Roman world. Her approach to studying the Bible involves attention to the historical, literary, and canonical aspects of the text. Before coming to Notre Dame, Angela earned an MTS degree from the Franciscan School of Theology. During her studies at FST she developed a deeper appreciation for how the Franciscan tradition enhances study of the Bible as a resource for personal and communal spiritual life, and she is excited to share this with students in the MTS-FT program.
