Professor
John Reese is an accomplished financial executive with significant experience in strategic planning, raising capital, mergers & acquisitions, business analysis, forecasting and reporting, legal compliance and contract administration. John has raised multiple rounds of capital and has orchestrated successful exits. He has broad experience in start-ups and small and large companies in the semiconductor, software and Department of Defense industries. His diverse background also includes responsibility for risk management, human resources, and IT. John volunteers as a mentor with the Springboard program at Connect and is a consultant to small and early-stage companies.
John currently serves as the chief financial officer (CFO) of NeoTech Aqua Solutions®. Before this, he was CFO of Reaction Design® and served as a key member of the management team in the sale of the company to ANSYS®. Immediately before joining Reaction Design, Mr. Reese was the CFO of San Diego Research Center (SDRC), a defense contract services provider, where he led the successful acquisition and transition of SDRC to a wholly owned subsidiary of ArgonST. Prior to SDRC, he was the CFO of Syntricity®, an engineering software and services company, where he led the development of the financial infrastructure from its inception through its growth phase while completing multiple financing transactions.
Mr. Reese received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Denver, and his master’s degree in finance from San Diego State University.
