Melanie Thomas is a passionate cybersecurity practitioner and advocate. Melanie currently serves as a principal engineer with a top Fortune 50 company, supporting managed security services for both public and private organizations around the world. Believing that you can apply the experience you learn along your journey to drive your career forward, she actively applies skills she has obtained from disciplines such as project and product management, legal/industrial regulation compliance, and software development in her approach to cybersecurity operations and leadership. As a lifelong learner, Melanie actively seeks opportunities to learn from everything around her.
Community involvement is an important aspect of her life, serving in volunteer and leadership roles with multiple non-profits. Melanie earned her MS in Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management from George Washington University, BS in Communications from Oklahoma City University, as well as multiple certifications to support her passions in cyber and related domains.
