Pat Norris, MPA

Pat Norris is currently a Detective Sergeant with San Diego Police Department. He has twenty-five years of law enforcement experience, and supervises a team of detectives conducting investigations including property crimes, to crimes against persons. Sergeant Norris has served as a patrol sergeant, an administrative sergeant in charge of department contracts, an investigative sergeant with the Internal Affairs Unit, and his current position as an Area Station Detective Sergeant. Prior to his promotion, he served as a Field Training Officer, Field Evidence Technician, and Community Relations Officer.

Sergeant Norris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of San Diego, where he also played golf. Following graduation, he was commissioned into the Army as an Infantry Officer, and later into Military Intelligence. He graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne and Ranger Schools and served as a platoon leader, scout platoon leader, company commander, and senior staff and intelligence officer at various levels of command. He later received his Master’s in Public Administration from National University.

In his spare time, Pat teaches at the Regional Police Academy, and serves as an assistant golf coach for one of the local high school golf teams.
