Benefits and resources

All graduates of the University of San Diego are lifetime members of the USD Alumni Association and have access to the benefits and resources listed below.

Professional and Continuing Education

If you’re looking to continue your education after your Master’s degree, Professional and Continuing Education offers affordable, high-quality professional development through online continuing education courses, programs, USD partner offerings, and certificates. Career Development Center

Alumni can access career resources such as admission to all USD Career events and fairs, membership in the Torero Employer and Alumni Mentors (T.E.A.M.) platform, and limited complimentary career coaching services. You can make a career coaching appointment or review more information on the Career Development Center website.

Torero Store

Alumni receive a 10% discount on in-store and online purchases when you present your Alumni Association Membership Card at the register or enter “alumni” at online checkout. Discount excludes textbooks and any computer department purchases.

University Center Ticket Office

Get the same discounts as students through the University Center Ticket Office! Use your Alumni Association Membership Card at the time of purchase to receive discounted tickets to Southern California attractions and movies. For more information, call (619) 260-2727 or visit the Ticket Office.

Sports Center

All alumni must use their Alumni Association Membership ID to obtain a Facilities Use Pass in order to use the Facilities. Alumni who graduated within the past calendar year are eligible to receive a Facilities Use Pass at no charge. Costs for various membership options can be found on Campus Recreation’s Membership webpage.

Fine Arts Performances

Purchase discounted tickets to fine arts performances like on-campus art exhibits, plays, concerts and dance performances. To receive the discount, present your Alumni Membership Card at time of purchase. View upcoming events.

Bartell Hotels

USD alumni may receive a discount of 15% off of the best available rate at all eight Bartell Hotel locations. For more information or to book your stay, visit the Bartell Hotels website or call 800-345-9995.

FAQs

I want to pursue more education but not another degree–what options do I have through USD?

USD’s Professional and Continuing Education division offers a variety of standalone courses and certificate programs, both online and on-campus. These allow you to continue your education and professional development without having to enroll in a full degree program. For a full list of courses and certificates offered, please visit the Professional and Continuing Education webpage.

I completed my program but haven’t participated in a graduation ceremony–will I be invited to one?

Yes, online graduating students are invited to participate in graduation. USD only holds commencement ceremonies once per year in May for all students graduating in that academic year. You can find more information on this event on the Commencement website. If you have questions regarding your eligibility to participate, please contact your Program Coordinator or the USD Student Success Team, and they will be happy to assist you.

How long can I use or access my USD email after graduation?

After graduation, you can maintain access to your email by logging in at least once every six months from a desktop computer (mobile access is not sufficient). Alumni accounts that are not accessed within 6 months are at risk of being deactivated. If you are a USD alumni and want to know if you have a Torero Mail account, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 619-260-7900 or email [email protected].

Will I still be able to access Microsoft Office 365 after graduation?

Microsoft Office 365 application access is not available for non-active users including alumni.

Will I still be able to access Zoom Pro after graduation?

Alumni do not retain access to Zoom Pro. Upon graduation, your Zoom account will automatically revert to a free account which includes up to 40 minutes per meeting. In order to access the Zoom free account, students must have an active USD email. See “How long can I use or access my USD email after graduation?” for details.
