USD RN to BSN Program Faculty
Faculty in the RN to BSN Program are experienced clinicians and educators from the University of San Diego’s Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science. They hold advanced degrees and credentials in areas including healthcare informatics, evidence-based practice, patient care management, health policy, and clinical leadership. Many have spent years at the bedside, and some are continuing their own graduate education while they teach, so they understand firsthand what it means to balance coursework with a full-time nursing career.
Here is what that looks like for you as a student:
- Mentorship and coaching from day one. Faculty hold open office hours, conduct regular check-ins, and offer one-on-one guidance throughout every semester. If you are returning to school after years away or navigating an online academic environment for the first time, you will have a support system built around your success.
- An online classroom that feels connected, not isolated. Faculty use video introductions, active discussion boards, and proactive outreach to build engagement from the start. You will learn alongside a cohort of working nurses in similar life stages, with faculty who are accessible and involved.
- A team-based approach to clinical practicums. Lead faculty collaborate with you and your preceptor to ensure your placement aligns with your career goals and learning needs.
- Professional networks that extend beyond Southern California. Faculty maintain strong ties to hospitals and healthcare organizations across every state where the program is offered.
Wherever you are in your nursing career, the faculty in this program are invested in helping you take the next step and making sure you feel supported along the way.
