Dr. Lisa Evans has been professionally connected to the field of educational/instructional technology since the mid-1990s and has experience in instructional design and eLearning, curriculum development, content production for online platforms, online teaching, and research. As an instructional designer she enjoys working on course design/re-design, consulting with faculty on the integration of technology to facilitate communication and collaboration, and building multimedia assets that support student learning. In her role as an online instructor, she is interested in the concept of teaching presence and its relation to online student success. Lisa received her B.A. from UCLA, a Master’s in educational communication and technology from NYU, a Master’s in instructional design and technology from California State University Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in instructional technology from the University of Virginia.

Kelly Falcone

Dr. Kelly Falcone is a solution-focused collaborator who continually strives for creating learning environments where all students and employees thrive. Kelly has worked in higher education primarily in the California Community College system as an adjunct faculty member, tenured faculty member, and Professional Development Coordinator. Kelly continually looks for ways to use her skills and knowledge to benefit the educational community, which is exemplified in the diverse list of groups/committees/projects she has been involved with including: guided pathways, instructional design, distance education, Open Educational Resources, accessibility, employee wellness, student health and wellness, basic skills, active/collaborative learning, strategic planning, learning outcomes, and the implementation of systemwide technology tools. Kelly has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Kinesiology from SDSU, a Masters degree in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Technology from University of Phoenix.

Rebecca Lundeen

Dr. Rebecca Lundeen is a teacher turned educational psychologist passionately exploring how we learn and how to influence motivation. She has experience in early childhood education, K-12, higher education, research and evaluation, academic and behavioral intervention, social emotional learning, instructional design, multimedia course production, online teaching strategies, faculty support, and consultation. As a learning designer, she enjoys applying evidence-based learning and motivation principles to create efficient, effective and enjoyable learning experiences. In her role as an online instructor, she is interested in promoting students’ academic self-regulation, and facilitating an inclusive learning community of care. Rebecca received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from USC as a first-generation college student, her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Fullerton, her Master’s in Educational Psychology along with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and her Ed.D. in Educational Psychology from USC.

K. Holly Shiflett, PhD

Holly Shiflett, PhD is the Director of Partnerships at FutureLearn, the leading social learning platform. She brings an extensive background in international online education strategy and online program implementation across a variety of higher education sectors. Her role at FutureLearn provides digital strategy and support for global higher education institutions in the UK, Europe, Australia and the US.

Prior to joining FutureLearn, Holly worked at Wiley Education Services, a provider of Online Program Management Services, leading online education partnerships in the UK and Europe including the University of Birmingham, the University of Bath, and the University of Glasgow in the UK as welll as, Vlerick Business School in Belgium. Similarly, at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), Holly initiated the institution’s first fully online programs and implemented university wide support services for students. The Middle State Commission on Higher Education awarded Pitt with a series of 2 commendations for this collaborative work. Holly started her eLearning career at eCollege, one of the first Learning Management Systems, where she held a variety of leadership roles.

Holly has a PhD in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Integrated Marketing Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BA in Communication Arts from Salisbury University in Maryland. Holly lives in San Diego, California, USA and Emsworth, England.

Jeff Suarez-Grant

Jeff is the Senior Instructional Designer at California State University, Los Angeles. Working in the Center for Effective Teaching and Learning, he consults with university faculty in the redesign of courses for hybrid and online, while addressing equity gaps in student success. To date, Jeff has helped faculty build over 200 hybrid and online courses. Jeff is a featured expert in the Association of College and University Educator’s program on course design. He is also an emerging expert in enhancing inclusive teaching practice through online course design.

Jeff received his BFA in Photography and Imaging from Art Center College of Design, a Career and Technical Education teaching credential from University of San Diego, and a Master’s degree in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University.

His professional affiliations include the Quality Matters Instructional Designers Association, and the Online Learning Consortium’s Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning.
